Code Enforcement Officer

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

City of Glennville is accepting applications for a Code Enforcement Officer. This position is responsible for enforcing a variety of applicable ordinances, codes, and regulations related to zoning, land use, nuisance, property maintenance, building codes, health and safety, and other matters of public concern. This position also reviews construction permit applications for compliance, issues permits, and keeps a permit log.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma or GED, and
  2. Five (5) years’ experience in the commercial and residential construction industry.
  3. Will be required to obtain an International Code Council (ICC) Inspector Certification within two (2) years of employment.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

  1. Principles and practices of commercial, industrial, and residential construction;
  2. Building and land code regulations;
  3. Interpret blueprints
  4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Pass Background and Drug Test
  2. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  3. Valid State Driver’s License
