City of Glennville is accepting applications for a City Manager. This position plans, manages and directs all City operations, under the administrative direction of the Mayor and City Council and is the Financial and Personnel Director. Maintains communication with department supervisors and elected officials to ensure all departments are functioning in compliance with City policies and procedures. Performs other duties as directed by the City Council and reports to the Mayor.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Finance or Business Administration, and
- Five years’ experience as a Government Manager or Assistant Government Manager or a combination thereof.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of Public Administration practices.
- Knowledge of Local Government Operations and Procedures.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Ability to prepare and implement short and long term goals.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other government entities.
- Ability to prepare City policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and ability to effectively control City expenditures.
- Knowledge and ability to prepare and implement annual operating budgets.
- Knowledge and experience in the preparation and implementation of government personnel policies.
- Ability to operate personal computer including word processing function.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with three to five years of progressively responsible financial management experience and service
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Pass Background Test
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Acquire Level I and Level II Finance Officer Certification
